My Practice

How I work

I am trained as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor using Person Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt theories.  This means that I work in a variety of ways to enable me to work in the best way to support you.

My therapeutic work often leads me to connecting the mind and body to connect with the here and now to help to manage difficulties such as anxiety.  I also find I use a lot of creative techniques to work through things with all ages of clients.

I am constantly updating my skillset to enable me to offer a wide range of therapeutic techniques.

Creative Work

Sometimes it can be hard to find the words to express how you are feeling.  I have found it can be beneficial for clients to have access to creative therapy if they would like to give it a go.  I am a member of the Creative Counsellors Community as colouring, drawing, doodling and even painting can work really well as a creative aid.  Other creative tools available include:
  • Toy animals
  • Play-doh
  • Story cubes
  • Emotion blocks
  • Games such as Jenga
  • Stones and shells
  • Nesting Dolls
  • Lego

My Room

I work in a calm and comfortable room with plenty of space for creative activities.

I work from home so there is plenty of on street parking.  My room is a five minute walk from a major bus stop in Upton, Dorset.

Although I work from the ground floor there are two steps to get into the property which could make access more difficult if you have mobility difficulties.

I work face to face, online, or over the telephone.  Subject to availability, I may be able to offer sessions in schools or at home but availability for this is limited.

Who do I work with?

I work with all individuals including but not exclusive to:
  • Children
  • Young People
  • Adults
